Let my mind (“manasaa”) and head (“shirasaa”) forever
surrender (“namaami me”) to Lord
Shankara - Bestower of auspiciousness - the embodiment (“tanumanisham”) of
Naada, the primeval sound.
To Him, the essence ("saaram") of blissful
Samaveda, the best of the vedas ("nigamottama"), I bow every time
("vaaram vaaram"). To Him who delights ("lolam") in the art
("vidya") of the seven ("sapta") musical notes
("svara") Sa-Ri-Ga-Ma-Pa-Dha-Ni-; born of His five

("vimala hrudaya") Tyaagaraaja I offer my repeated prostrations.
